Don Denton

My journey in photography has spanned over 40 years. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working as a staff photographer and photo editor for various esteemed publications such as the Calgary Herald, the Vancouver Sun, and even Reuter News Pictures based in Brussels, Belgium. I've amassed a wealth of experience and insights through these diverse roles.

Currently, I find immense joy in teaching photography and archiving courses within the Continuing Studies department at UVic. This allows me to share my passion with others and contribute to the growth of budding photographers. My ongoing personal project delves into the histories of BC photographers. This endeavor has involved over 70 audio and email interviews, as well as the collection of supporting books, magazines, exhibition catalogues, and other valuable ephemera.

When I'm not engrossed in photography, you'll find me maintaining an appreciation for craft beer, indulging in hockey sticks, exploring my writing interests, and, of course, enjoying more photography just for the sheer pleasure it brings.
