Simon Whitfield among pack of UVic Vikes with sub-15 minute times in Sidney 5km race

Geoff Martinson has now won all four of the Frontrunners Island Race series events he’s entered in 2013.

Martinson narrowly edged visiting Vancouver runner Ryan Brockerville to win the Bazan Bay 5KM run in Sidney last week.

Bazan was the fifth event of the year.

Simon Whitfield mixed among a pack of current and former UVic Vikes who hit sub-15 minute times in the 5KM.

Former Vikes athlete and current member of the National Triathlon Centre, Ellen Pennock, was the top woman.
