The topic of conversation at coffee shops, the pub and local dinner parties is what to call the newest faces on Oak Bay Avenue. Vagrants? Beggars? Bums? Hobos? Homeless persons? Loiterers?
In all of the years I have lived in Oak Bay this is the first year I have been hassled for money by transients.
Is this part of our sweeping new changes in the municipality, along with backyard farming and bike lanes?
