Having returned to the Oak Bay pool after swimming at Esquimalt for the last few years I now realize why I left. There are rules for the use of the pool yet many feel they are entitled to do what they want. Try swimming in the continuous lane and encountering three people standing there blocking the way while they talk. Or a bunch halfway down the length of the pool others just hogging the lane and not moving.
I was hoping that things might have changed since I was away but not so. One lifeguard said it an Oak Bay entitled attitude. How true.
