Letter: Cull to curb deer not an inexpensive option

A couple of points to educate the reader who wants an “inexpensive” cull to curb the deer. The last cull which slaughtered just over a dozen deer cost taxpayers in Oak Bay more than a quarter of a million dollars. Do they think another would be less costly? Are there any fewer deer in Oak Bay as a result?

The deer meat which we were told was to go to the First Nations ended up, I am told in the Hartland land fill as the meat was unfit for human consumption because of the stress imposed on the animal from the culling process.

Points to consider.
