Letter: Canada has a chance to be truly extraordinary

Trudeau should have said no to pipeline, fossil fuel expansion

Here’s what Justin Trudeau should have said on Tuesday:

“Although I’ve said many times that there isn’t a country in the world that would find billions of barrels of oil and leave it in the ground while there is a market for it, that’s exactly what Canada is going to do. Current temperatures in the Arctic are 20 degrees Celsius above normal. Extraordinary measures are required. As of today, Canadians say NO to further fossil fuel expansion and challenge the rest of the world to follow.”
