Lack of kudos for Clark telling from retiring MLA

Murray Coell falls short of offering up praise for premier as a leader

Re: MLA Murray Coell’s retirement

After 16 years of service in the provincial legislature, Murray Coell has decided to retire on his gold-plated pension of approximately $89,000 per year.

During his retirement interview, he described his boss, Premier Christy Clark, as a person who is, “full of life and full of energy and a great campaigner.”

I found it unusual that he didn’t feel it was necessary to expand on her leadership qualities and capabilities as leader of the Liberal Party and premier of our province. He probably has his own reasons.

Most politicians claim they are retiring so they will be able to spend “more time with their families.”

We all know it’s for the “the kids” and for “all the families” in the province, don’t we?
