A tax by any other name

What could be a more worthwhile tax than one used to provide education and health service to citizens?

When I relocated to Saskatchewan way back in 1974 – I thought a more socialist state than British Columbia – I was impressed and delighted to pay a value added tax on all consumer purchases which was named Education and Health Tax.  What, I thought, could be a more worthwhile tax than one used to provide education and health service to citizens?

I suggest Christy Clark re-name our B.C. tax as such, maybe this may impress new comers/taxpayers to this wonderful place named British Columbia and quiet much of the grumbling about this very necessary value added and fair tax on all levels of society.

The more we spend, the more tax we pay and so should it be.
