Police briefs: Car stolen Thursday in Oak Bay

Oak Bay Police received three separate reports from the Henderson area Saturday. Two cars were broken into overnight, one along the 3500 block of Plymouth Rd. and the other on the 2000 block of Frederick Norris Rd. Police say sunglasses, change, a cheque and a BC Ferries card were stolen. Later in the day a local woman’s purse was stolen from her home on the 2300 block of Cedar Hill Cross Road.

Oak Bay Police received three separate reports from the Henderson area Saturday. Two cars were broken into overnight, one along the 3500 block of Plymouth Rd. and the other on the 2000 block of Frederick Norris Rd. Police say sunglasses, change, a cheque and a BC Ferries card were stolen. Later in the day a local woman’s purse was stolen from her home on the 2300 block of Cedar Hill Cross Road.

Police also responded to a report of break and enter in progress on Svlvian Lane, which turned out to be a case of misplaced keys.

There were no reported issues during the the lighted truck parade. Reserves and volunteers were on hand to provide support and additional safety.

On Dec. 2 a male suspect was arrested for theft under $5000 along the 2100 block of Oak Bay Avenue. The man was found to be in violation his previous release conditions, and was lodged in cells while awaiting to appear in court.

Police are investigating a reported vehicle theft that took place sometime over the night of Nov. 29. The complainant reports that someone entered her home on the 2300 block of Cedar Hill Cross Road, entered her garage, and drove off in her vehicle.

On Nov. 27 police were advised of a graffiti incident by the Oak Bay running track. The public works building was targeted sometime over the previous weekend.

On Nov. 26 Police received a report that two boys were chased down Lulie Street by a large deer. They managed to escape on scooters, and were unharmed in the incident.
