Oak Bay is seeking applicants for its volunteer board of variance.
The board of variance is a three-person, quasi-judicial body appointed by council.
The work involved requires strong analytical and reasoning skills to consider applications to vary the provisions of the zoning bylaw, to make structural alterations to a building containing a lawful non-conforming use, or to grant relief from a requirement contained in the Tree Protection Bylaw.
Appointments are for a term of three years each and may be renewed for additional terms.
Visit oakbay.ca/municipal-hall/committees online for more details. The deadline for those interested is Monday, Sept. 16.
