Police surveillance led to an arrest last week in Oak Bay.
Oak Bay Police officers were conducting surveillance on a prolific property crime offender Friday when officers observed the individual in breach of a number of his release conditions.

The male was arrested and held in custody to appear in court.
“When we learn of a prolific offender in our community, we immediately and consistently dedicate the time and resources to ensure the offender complies with any and all conditions,” said Deputy Chief Ray Bernoties.

Erik Vanden-Bulck had been charged with four counts of breach of recognizance. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 12 months of probation.
