Oak Bay is home to numerous women who strive each day through their work, business and volunteer activities to make this community the wonderful place we all call home.

The Oak Bay News welcomes local business women and others making a difference in the community to its annual Women in Business event at the Victoria Golf Club Thursday, Feb. 23.

“The event and supplement are an opportunity to celebrate and highlight the important work women do in the community,” says Janet Gairdner, publisher of the Oak Bay News.

The event is an evening of celebration with exploration, as Victoria Golf Club catering pairs with HeeHaw Horseradish and a pianist plays while guests network.

HeeHaw provides one of the main speakers of the evening, as Pam Bavington shares the successes of the Oak Bay family’s fast-growing business. Each year, the Oak Bay News provides a charity an opportunity to spread its message. This year, guests hear from Oak Bay Kiwanis, which supports the Kiwanis Pavilion Foundation, providing equipment and extras for those in care at the Kiwanis Pavilion.

The Oak Bay News Women in Business event is Feb. 23 at the Victoria Golf Course.
