A charge of second-degree murder was sworn against a Victoria man in the wake of another man's death this month.
Crown counsel swore the charge against Joshua Tyler Bredo, 26, on Wednesday, two weeks after an Aug. 3 incident in a Cormorant Street condo left two men injured.
The other man, Daniel Jordan Levesque, 20, later died in hospital. He had moved to Victoria just three months earlier to pursue his interest in music.
Bredo appeared in court Thursday via video link and did not make a bail application. His next court appearance was scheduled for Sept. 1.
Since his arrest Aug. 3 – which happened immediately after his discharge from hospital – Bredo has been in police custody.
This was Victoria's second murder of 2011.
