It’s still nearly a month away, but signs of spring have been appearing around Oak Bay.
Among them are the blooms to be tallied in the annual Greater Victoria Flower Count, happening March 1-7 around the region. Oak Bay is the defending champion municipality in the friendly competition.
The event began as a way for the Capital Region to attract tourists in the off months and has become a source of pride for communities and somewhat of a bragging point for residents glad to not have to endure months of chilly winters.
