A block party will take over a section of Crestview Road, near the university, next month.
Council gave the nod of approval to an application to close part of the road to allow for a family and community barbecue, with games and alcohol-free drinks.
Neighbours Jodi and Stephen Foster and Maureen and Jim McDermott, who live in the 3600-block of the road, said in a letter to council the party is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. on June 18.
Their section of road is a straightaway that would be easily visible to drivers.
