An alert resident sounded the alarm after spotting a prowler in the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club on Nov. 12 shortly after 11 p.m.

Police were called to the club at 2190 Harlow Dr. after someone spotted what looked like someone in the clubhouse using a flashlight. On arrival, officers found two people leaving on foot.

“The female was arrested and found to be in possession of break and enter tools, drugs, and drug paraphernalia,” said Deputy Chief Ray Bernoties. “The male fled the area with some cash and an iPad. He remains outstanding, however, he’s well known to us so we’ll be seeking a warrant for his arrest.”

Oak Bay Police are in the process of requesting charge approval for a number of charges, including break and enter, theft, and possession of break in instruments. The investigation is ongoing.

“We’re very grateful to the citizen who called us,” Bernoties said.
