April 23 will be a good day for rap fans in Victoria as hip hop icon Ice Cube is bringing his Straight Into Canada tour to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Ice Cube’s last show in the B.C. capital was in 2012 at the former Distrikt nightclub (which is now called Wicket Hall).

Rappers Merkules and Peter Jackson will open the show.

Ice Cube rose to fame with legendary California hip hop group N.W.A and has since sold more than 10 million solo albums. He is also an actor, director and producer, as well as the co-founder of the BIG3 basketball league.

Ice Cube is currently working on his 11th solo studio album titled “Man Down” to be released this summer on his label Lench Mob Records.

Tickets for the concert go on sale on Friday (Feb. 23) at selectyourtickets.com or the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre box office at 250-220-7777.
