Artists sought for annual juried spring studio tour

Oak Bay's free spring studio tour coming up April 22 and 23

Oak Bay Parks, Recreation, and Culture produces the free, self-guided tour April 22 and 23, from noon to 4:30 p.m.

Established and emerging artists open their homes and studios to display original watercolour, acrylic, and oil paintings, fibre, photography, woodcuts, glass and pottery creations.

“We have heard from many of the previous participants who are looking forward to this juried spring event again, but we always want to find new studios in Oak Bay,” said Mary Kucera, of Oak Bay Parks, Recreation and Culture marketing.

The self-guided studio tour showcases Oak Bay’s many talented artists.

Those looking to be involved can fill out an application at the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, 1975 Bee St. or visit oakbay.ca and search ‘spring studio tour’ to download online. March 1 is the deadline to apply.

This two-day special event is free to the public. Brochures with artist images, descriptions and a tour map will be available in the weeks ahead of the tour at recreation.oakbay.ca.

Brochures will also be available at the Oak Bay recreation centres, municipal hall and the Oak Bay library branch as well as local businesses and through participating artists.
