Uplands survey underway

Council expects a Phase 1 update in the fall that will guide council’s direction to proceed to Phase 2

Currently in Oak Bay, the Uplands neighbourhood has a 100-year-old single pipe system to accommodate both sanitary sewer and storm water flows. The provincial government, through its Master Sewer Regulation, mandates that combined sewer and storm water overflows must be eliminated.

On May 12, council awarded a contract to Polaris Land Surveyors to gather data, including a regional survey of property elevations. That work starts this month and will continue over the next 10 to 12 weeks. Council expects a Phase 1 update in the fall that will guide council’s direction to proceed to Phase 2.
