Tweed ride includes Empress stopover

What began as a cycling fundraiser in England in 2009 has reached Victoria.

Dress up in your duds for Tweed Ride Victoria on May 7. Proceeds will help buy a bike stretcher ambulance for rural health clinics in Malawi.

The ride begins at the Fairmont Empress Hotel and includes costume judging on Government Street and a rest for tea at Government House.

Cyclists are encouraged to wear at least one item of tweed clothing. The ride ends at Penny Farthing Pub in Oak Bay.
