Piano campaign for Dunnet theatre enters final push

A special two-week theatre seat sponsorship campaign push starts this week as District of Oak Bay and Scotiabank Oak Bay showcase the campaign’s portable banners and fundraising postcards. It’s a final push in the Keys To Our Success campaign to finance the purchase of the Steinway concert piano for the 420-seat, state-of-the-art Dave Dunnet Community Theatre at Oak Bay High.

The theatre at Oak Bay High is already in heavy rotation as a venue in Greater Victoria, with many expecting a concert piano in a theatre of that size and scope. So Oak Bay High School Alumni Association, Oak Bay Rotary Foundation, Oak Bay High School, Greater Victoria School District and District of Oak Bay joined forces to create Oak Bay Concert Piano Committee.

The piano is in place, but of the original 100 theatre seat sponsorships of $450, 20 seats remain. Seat sponsors receive a charitable tax receipt. Donors may elect a single-seat sponsorship payment of $450 or six equal monthly payments of $75.

The committee hopes to announce completion of the campaign before the end of the year.
