The Oak Bay High track team hosts its 17th annual compost fundraiser March 9 to 11.

Residents can feed the garden and support youth with the annual fertilizer fundraiser at Oak Bay High.

The track team’s 17th annual garden compost fundraiser features a high-quality local mix of yard compost and manure that has been well ground and mixed.

They even deliver the 40-pound bags to your door March 9 to 11 at a cost of $6 for one bag or $5 for five or more.

The fundraiser helps the team head for Disney World in Florida March 19.

“It’s good team bonding, good track meet and a chance to get away with the kids,” said coach Richard Fast.

In previous years the team has competed at meets in California, Oregon, Australia and Cuba in the 20 years since coach Mike Sheffer has been a part of the program.

On the track, the team has had an illustrious record with decades as Island junior champions, Island senior champions and overall provincial champions.
