After a successful recovery from his November surgery, Hermann Nieweler is saying thank you in his own way.
"I got to pay back," said the 30-year owner of Hermann's Jazz Club.
He's hosting a fundraiser for the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Now in his mid seventies, Hermann says he runs Victoria's oldest last jazz venue as a hobby.
Last summer, he got on the wait list for kidney transplant.
"I was a lucky one," he said of his five-month wait. "The doctors are happy and I'm happy,"
There are two events on April 30.
At 3 p.m., local bands and presentations by the Kidney Foundation at 3 p.m.. The Midnights play another concert at 8 p.m. More than 150 tickets have been sold.
