Oak Bay’s annual Tree Appreciation Day was a rousing success according to organizers.
More than 50 people attended over the two hours last Sunday.

Friends of Uplands Park, the Oak Bay community, the 2nd Fort Victoria Scout Group and Oak Bay Parks staff planted eight large Garry oaks, more than 50 pots of camas and the many native species in a great community effort showcasing commitment to stewardship of the environment.
Mayor Nils Jensen, Coun. Braithwaite and Monty Holding, chair of the Parks, Recreation and Culture Commission were on hand to help with the event.
