The Victoria Royals are set to return to action this weekend after being sidelined due to players and staff being placed on COVID protocols by the Western Hockey League.

The team made the announcement Thursday (Jan. 13) and will resume play with a pair of back-to-back away games against the Kelowna Rockets on Friday and Saturday.

The Royals’ road trip continues Jan. 18 and 19 with back-to-back games against the Prince George Cougars, then Victoria returns home for the Jan. 21 Bell Let’s Talk Night game against the Vancouver Giants at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

On Jan. 7 the Royals paused all hockey operations as a number of players and staff had either tested positive for COVID, or were displaying symptoms.
