Oak Bay swept the podium during the final short mat bowling tournament of the season.
Three teams from the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club, two from the Lakehill Bowling Club, and one from the Central Saanich Lawn Bowling Club wrapped up the short mat season with a round robin Inter Club Short Mat Tournament last weekend.
The Oak Bay team skipped by Harnam Grewal was undefeated, and finished in first place. Team members were David Anderson as third, and Marcia Thorneycroft and Pat Thomas sharing the lead position.
Second place went to Chris Slades’s team, with Andrew Harley, Tanis Ranger, Linda Cowie and Brent Merchant all sharing positions over the two days.
Brent Jansen’s team, with John Cossom as third and Karen Evans as lead took third place.
Mats are rolled up this week in preparation for the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club’s open house April 23 and opening day of the outdoor season May 6.
