Hot weather highlights lawn bowling tournament

Miller Cup Triples Tournament was held at the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club on the weekend

The Miller Cup Triples Tournament was held at the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club on the weekend of May 27 and 28, under brilliant blue skies.

Ten teams competed, each playing 5 games of 10 ends. Temperatures were in the mid 20s, and there was little breeze, but the greens were in great shape, and the players enthusiastic.

First place went to the team of Eric Ballinger, Peter Insley, and Tanis Ranger. Jim Sidel’s team of Pat Thomas and club novice Mitch O’Brien finished in second place, and Garry Anderson, Anne Bolton, and Steve Rikley finished third.
