South Africa’s Izak Van Der Merwe won $8,000 by defeating France’s Clement Reix ($3,500) in the final of the South Island Indoor Challenge at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre on Sunday (Oct. 21).

It was the third running of the annual professional tennis tournament with a total prize purse of $15,000.

Reix was the defending champ from 2011.
