Warrantless surveillance vs. hard-won liberties

I do not want to see Canada moving in the direction of Communist China.

Despite being very outspoken on the question of crime, Prime Minister Stephen Harper seems far from eager to discuss the legislation he’s promised to pass within 100 days of taking office – legislation that will allow online spying without a warrant.

Is this to be done at the taxpayers’ expense? We have warrants in place for good reason, as we do the liberties we cherish.

I, for one, do not want to see Canada moving in the direction of Communist China.
