Money down the drain

I wonder if Oak Bay will follow the City of Victoria and reduce the water charge to account for summer watering? A recent Times Colonist article reported the City of Victoria is reducing summer water sewer rates by 30 per cent. This is on the assumption water goes in the garden, not the sewer.

Oak Bay charges the same rate year round and charges assuming 60 per cent goes in the sewer. But any summer increase clearly goes on the gardens and lawns, not the sewer. On my water bill alone I pay three times more for water in the summer than in the winter and all that extra charge is based on Oak Bay’s assumption it goes down the drain.
