LETTERS TO THE EDITOR 9 March, 2011 - Water strategy makes no sense

Water, water everywhere and still the price keeps climbing.

If only our water commission could quit trying to dump its social engineering agenda on the residents of the Capital Region and face up to simple economic facts.

The region’s population has continued to grow and yet our water consumption rates continue to fall. The water level in our reservoir has rarely dropped below 60 per cent, even in dry summers.

Green should become the new brown, water rates should drop substantially and a new water management team should be put in place that is respectful of taxpayers and understands the principles of supply and demand economics.
