Letter: Why monitor speed on the Avenue?

Oak Bay Avenue doesn't warrant a speeding campaign

Re: Keep and eye on slow drivers too, Oak Bay News May 27

Have to agree with the writer stating that traffic on Oak Bay Avenue is slow but have to question the Oak Bay Police Department why it had two constables with a radar gun checking on traffic last week on the street near Starbucks.

Are they trying to prove there are no speeders?

Or just don’t want to hand out speeding tickets on real racetracks like Henderson, Cedar Hill X Road or Cadboro Bay Road?
