Ever wonder why each of the municipalities in the CRD have opted to collect the sewage treatment tax using as many different methods as we have municipalities?
I for one believe it is because they hope we are all too stupid to understand that fees and taxes all come from the same taxpayer’s pocket.
In the interest of honesty and transparency why not make it mandatory for all municipalities to collect the sewage treatment tax as a line item on our property tax bills rather than confusing the issue by hiding it in a variety of utility fee structures?
