Letter: Oak Bay should become a ‘heritage district’

Showcasing Oak Bay's exceptional heritage should be central to Official Community Plan

Great editorial and story on Dec. 14 (Oak Bay News, ‘Conservation area a valuable piece of the heritage puzzle’ and ‘Heritage conservation bid moves to budget discussions’).

I support this initiative wholeheartedly.

In fact, in light of our remarkable cultural and natural heritage, from architecture to rare plants, Oak Bay should brand itself a “Heritage District.”

Protecting, enhancing and showcasing our exceptional heritage should be the “beating heart” of our Official Community Plan.
