I am flabbergasted at the number of times someone makes an unsafe left turn in Oak Bay.

Today, two people turned left onto an Oak Bay Street and I had to brake and come to a full stop to avoid hitting the car. There were no other vehicles behind me and none coming in the other direction. This happens multiple times nearly every time I’m driving in my neighbourhood. The ages of the drivers vary widely so this is not something attributed to the elderly population in Oak Bay.

There have been times when the driver doesn’t even look in my direction before initiating a turn. I have already lost one car when I was T-boned by a person who drove through a stop sign. I’m wondering how long it will be before I will need to replace my current car due to an accident that should not happen.

Please residents and visitors to the neighbourhood, stop making unsafe left turns to save 2-3 seconds in your day.
