I appreciated your article about the installation of the new totem pole at Oak Bay High. It’s a work of art that will connect generations of students to each other and to the peoples on whose lands they study.
Students, teachers, parents, guests, members of the community and its visitors are fortunate to be welcomed in such a moving way.
Sadly, your report missed acknowledging one person who volunteered hundreds and hundreds of hours to getting the project funded and completed. Without Gail Price-Douglas, Oak Bay High would not have this wonderful welcoming totem.
