Government must continue to watch Alberta tar sands

Now that the tar sands in Alberta are in trouble, I hope that the various government agencies responsible have enough control over the entire debacle to make sure that the major players don’t up and leave their mess behind like so many others before them.

The tailings ponds situated near the Athabasca River now measure over 220 square kilometres in size.
