A tax hike of 5.1 per cent for the average home in Oak Bay has been levied. All the years I have lived here I have yet to see an average home, and my taxes have always been higher than the ‘average’ home.
I wonder if the Oak Bay Beach Hotel had paid its $800,000 tax bill and the mayor had not spent close to $50,000 to kill 11 deer if that 5.1 per cent might have been lower.
