While reading the story about Ric Munroe and Carole Stanley’s losses in the recent fire I was at a loss as to why firemen would not try to put out a fire potentially saving belongings and animals’ lives rather than let the fire “extinguish itself,” as they were outside of their area. They could contain it only, it seems. Also confounding is that this fact had such scant mention and apparently import in the article.
