The promise of summer is just around the corner and even now we enjoy the long languishing light as we approach the longest day of the year. Ahhhh that’s the life.
Not so for too many people around the globe. As we approach the Financing for Development Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in July 2015, Canada can play a key role in ensuring that the Global Financing Facility, which will be housed at the World Bank, is both effective at leveraging funds and ensuring that those funds reach those who need them most.
In the coming months, while Canada negotiates the structure and priorities of the GFF we must urge the government to commit to accountability, equity and innovative and sustainable financing.
