May I add my support for those looking for independent thinkers on Oak Bay council.

To think that politicians with similar world views might actually work together rather than sitting as independents? It’s outrageous.

And that they might receive support, financial or otherwise, from similarly free-thinking individuals and organizations? How corrupt is that?

An independent thinker would never grovel for such support.

And then, to think that after they have been democratically elected, these same politicians might bring in legislation and programs to advance their world view?

Next thing you know these politicians will form a party, and then they’ll probably vote themselves a pension. How independent is that? Not very, let me tell you.

If only all the independent thinkers in Oak Bay thought like me then the little district by the sea would be governed perfectly and, more importantly, governed efficiently.

Democracy is messy, noisy, inefficient and ill-suited to the independent thinker.
