This morning I was thrilled to see a very young fawn with its mother enjoying the rites of spring. It looked so happy and carefree bounding around like a puppy dog.
But that feeling of exhilaration quickly left me when I wondered how much life this beautiful little creature would enjoy before being hit by a speeding vehicle or being culled by people who simply do not care.
