British flavour leaves good taste for visitors

Victoria's sense of British heritage gives the city unique charm

Re: Bringing Britain back to Victoria

I echo previous letters sent to you from many sources.

Friends from England, on their first and only visit to Canada about six years ago, were enchanted and complimented the city, saying “Victoria is more English than England.”

My husband and I visited from Vancouver from 1973 until taking up residency as Islanders in 2003. I have resided in several large cities as well as New York State and California.

In my books, Victoria is “it” – the most beautiful city in North America. And the jewel in its crown is its British flavour.

Let’s work together to value and preserve it.
