Beauty contest causes inaction to reign

Deer's cuteness should determine community's control measures

Stupidly, the deer problem has been turned into a beauty contest.

Of all the ungulates, deer are the best looking. Therefore, deer-huggers, who are not realists, want nothing done about the deer and their very destructive practices. These beauty contest advocates are giving deer the right to decimate our gardens.

If other ungulates like cattle and pigs roamed our properties, these same deer-huggers would be on the warpath.

Problems not addressed and unresolved don’t go away. They get worse.

In Oak Bay, when it comes to the deer problem, inaction reigns supreme.
