Thanks to Oak Bay for finally installing speed readers on Thompson, one of the busiest race tracks in the community.
The problem is the readers are mounted so close to the intersection that most vehicles leaving the corner won’t even be fast enough to register a speed unless the driver really stomps on it.
Maybe that way Oak Bay can say there are no speeders on that street. In my opinion, mounting them farther away from the intersections will make them more effective.
