Nan Walmsley passed away peacefully at home, September 13, surrounded by her family. She lived 97 fulfilling years.

She leaves behind her 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was well respected and admired for her many years working for Children and Family Services. She believed in giving back to her community, and after retirement she dedicated 25 years to Oak Bay Volunteers, even learning computer skills that were foreign to her. She was passionate about the arts, travel, gardening, and family. Her quest for knowledge never ceased. She enrolled in numerous classes through UVic right up to the age of 96, exploring more extensively her many areas of interest. She always had an open door policy and an extra plate was easily set at the table for a steaming bowl of her renowned soups or a "cuppa" tea. She was an inspiration to many. She was home to us. Mark, Jennifer, Gillian and Valerie

An open house celebration of life will be held at her home, 2039 Milton St. Victoria, on Sunday October 21st, from 1:00 to 5:00.
