Martin, E. Bruce

Born January 24, 1918 in Govan, Saskatchewan. Passed away peacefully October 15, 2010, at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, B.C after a lengthy illness.

Predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Nora Martin, infant sister Eileen, his first wife, Ruth, sister-in-law June Martin and daughter-in-law Gerri Martin.

Survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Grace, brothers Bob (Shirley), Joe (Gladys) and Al: children Marilyn (Dennis) Nagel, Don (Cecille), Nora (Ross) Lizotte and Sylvia Martin: stepchildren Valerie (Bob) Thwaites, Janet Scott and Bruce (Sandy) Adkins; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Bruce received his Masters of Agricultural Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan in 1942. He had a distinguished career in the field of agriculture in Western Canada.

Retired to Victoria (Oak Bay) where he and Grace participated in many community activities but in particular in service to Oak Bay United Church.

A long life well spent, an inspiration to all. Special thanks to Dr. J. Stockdill and to Richmond Pavilion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oak Bay United Church in Bruce’s memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 11:00am at Oak Bay United Church, 1369 Mitchell Street in Victoria BC, located the corner of Granite and Mitchell.
