Grace Martin (nee Ordish) passed away peacefully on November 25th in Victoria. She lived a long, fulfilling 99 years. Grace was predeceased by her husband, Bruce Martin. She is survived by her sister Joyce, daughters Janet & Valarie, son Bruce, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended Martin family.
Grace was born in Dodsland Saskatchewan, eventually moved to Regina, and then Toronto where she worked in finance. When she retired Grace moved to Victoria where she became an active member and volunteer of the Victoria Trefoil Guild, Royal Jubilee Hospital Auxiliary, and the Oak Bay United Church (including the Thrift Shop). Grace valued her family and network of friends, especially at Oak Bay United Church and Carlton House.
Grace will be dearly missed. The Matriarch of our family has left us, but wonderful memories of our love for her will live in our hearts forever. As mom lived her life she was an example to all of us with her genuine love of people, zest for life, positive attitude, sense of humor, fairness to all, dignity and commitment to do what was right.
