West Shore RCMP seize stolen gun, drugs

The search was part of a warrant in the 800-block of Cecil Blogg Drive in Colwood earlier this month

Police in the West Shore have siezed two guns, including a shotgun, during the execution of a search warrant earlier this month.

West Shore RCMP executed the warrant in the 800-block of Cecil Blogg Drive in Colwood on Dec. 3, in relation to a fraud investigation.

Officers found a break action shotgun, a stolen bolt action rifle, and a quantity of unknown drug substances and paraphernalia, as well as suspected stolen identification belonging to several people.

“Any time police can take a stolen firearm off the street is important for the safety and well being of our community. The West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit will continue to actively target those involved in drug and weapon offences,” says Cst. Matt Rowat of the Crime Reduction Unit.
