The West Shore RCMP is warning drivers and pedestrians to take care as winter driving conditions are still in effect.
Police said there is compact snow on all roadways and are recommending people stay home unless it is necessary to travel.
“Our main tips are to make sure you slow down, stay alert and definitely make sure your windows are clear from frost and fog before heading out driving anywhere,” said Const. Nancy Saggar of West Shore RCMP.
Pedestrians are being asked to stay on sidewalks, even if they aren’t properly cleared.
“We know many of the sidewalks have not been cleared making it difficult to walk around town,” Saggar said. “However, walking on the roadway is dangerous and even more so during slippery conditions where vehicles may swerve to miss you and may not be able to stop or slow down in time.”
As of Tuesday morning, police said there were no major collisions in the West Shore and no reported injuries.
